Welcome!

Getting Started

Here’s an introduction video and 5-step process to help you as we get started.

Here's What We Need to Get Started on Your Project

  1. Your logo (EPS, SVG, PDF, or PNG preferred)
  2. Hosting account login – we prefer using Lastpass for our client password sharing. If you don’t use LastPass, you can create a free account at the link I provided or reach out to us for additional ways to share your credentials.
  3. Existing WordPress site credentials – you can add us as an admin using websupport@barefootdc.com or share your credentials using #2 above.
  4. Images – start gathering any brand images, stock photos you have a license for, or other images you would like to use on your site.
  5. Brand guidelines, colors, or any special graphics that will be used on the site.

Content Snare

We use a system called Content Snare to help us collect everything we need from you to build your website. This includes things like headings, service descriptions, images, contact info, and more.

It makes your project run smoother by:

  1. Providing one location for all of your content
  2. Avoiding long email trails and back and forth (we all love those, don’t we?!)
  3. No more worrying about emails getting lost or missed
  4. Allowing you to easily fill it out

You’ll receive an email from the system once we have set it up.

Once inside, you’ll find some images that will help you visualize your site or document structure. These are examples of how your site or document will be laid out, not necessarily the exact look and feel your project will have.

The Design Process

Designing a website, no matter how big or small, is a process that can feel a bit overwhelming. To help minimize the overwhelm, I’ve outlined our process into 3 steps:

Step 1

Layout and Design

A large part of web design is the layout, structure, and design of the site. We’ll create the framework of your site and will send the homepage and a sub-page (or more upon request) for approval.

Step 2

Development and Tech

Once the site layout and design is approved, We’ll move forward with designing all pages, functionality, and responsive code, making sure your site looks great and functions nicely across all devices and browsers.

Step 3

Quality Assurance

Once the site is ready for final review, you’l have a 30-Day Quality Assurance period to review your site and provide feedback so we can make detailed edits until the site is ready to launch.

Getting Ready to Launch

Once your site is ready to go live, all unnecessary plugins, pages, images and backend files will be removed.

Your new site will be backed up and saved locally, should it ever need to be restored.

Once live, please allow 24-48 hours for propagation to occur.

Some computers will need to be refreshed in order to see the new site, though most computers will see the new site immediately depending on the wifi connection.

Your website logins and all credentials will be sent to you via LastPass or email ensuring the security of your passwords. Please save all logins for your records and do your best to keep them secure.

Upon completion, you’ll receive a link to our “moving forward” process where you’ll receive tips and tricks on marketing your new website and also information on our WordPress Care packages which we highly recommend for all clients.

Feel free to reach out by email or phone if you have any questions. Also, if you haven’t had a chance yet, please fill out the Barefoot Blueprint.
