Content generation may seem easy peasy when you’re in the early stages of your content marketing strategy. However, what happens when the ideas start dwindling? What do you do? Well, I’ve got 3 simple techniques to generate tons of content ideas quickly.

Check out what your competitors are doing

Keeping an eye on your competitors is important. This will give you insight into what their latest products are, any potential threats to your business, and news in your industry. Look at what they’re doing and find out why their customers like doing business with them. Browse their website and blogs. Scroll through their social media and forums. Look for content you can put your own spin on and create new content out of it.

Make bold predictions

Check out the latest trends in your industry, and try to foresee the future based on these trends. Your insights could be the talk of the town, especially if you get it right! When you establish your brand as a thought leader in your niche, you can make even bolder predictions. Think about topics like where your industry is headed, any upcoming trends you think may happen, what’s getting left behind, and so much more. I know, you can’t really see the future, but if your predictions come true, you’ll solidify your status as an industry leader and be well on your way to excellent content generation.

What questions are people asking?

There are many question-and-answer sites online. The top one right now is Quora, but there are tons of other popular ones.

There are also industry-specific forums and pages you can browse.

Not to mention Facebook and Linkedin Groups. By keeping your ear to the ground, you’ll find plenty of questions (and answers) you can build your content around.

Don’t forget to look closer to home too. To find out what your target market is talking about, check your blog and social media comments. You can even ask your followers and past clients to tell you what they want to read about on your website! Many will be happy to share if you ask nicely. Content generation doesn’t have to be difficult. It takes a little time and consistency, but it’s not difficult.
